We’re Making Bus Travel Even More Popular

Check-Out the Improvements We’re Making to Two Popular Local Bus Routes

From Monday 24th February 2025 Chaserider bus service 74 running between Cannock and Stafford will return to its normal route between Stafford & Cannock calling at Huntington, Brocton and Weeping Cross with buses no longer being diverted via Penkridge. Buses will run up to every 30 minutes during the day Monday to Saturday.

From the same date, hourly service 826 will also be improved reinstating a more direct link between Rugeley and Stafford calling at Queens Shopping Park, Weeping Cross, Baswich, Milford and Wolseley Bridge. We’ve also listened to feedback from customers in Etching Hill near Rugeley who have requested the return of a bus service – service 826 will provide off-peak journeys running along Bower Lane, Penk Drive, Woodcock Road and Hagley Road in each direction Monday to Saturday.

Kallum Crawford, Local Operations Manager at the Chaserider Buses said: “I’m pleased to be able to reintroduce the long-established route between Stafford and Cannock for service 74 removing the lengthy diversion via Penkridge.”

I’m sure customers will also welcome the introduction of a more direct link on service 826 between Stafford, Baswich, Milford and Rugeley. Feedback from customers have also requested the reinstatement of a bus service to the Etching Hill area of Rugeley – I’m pleased to announce we’re able to meet this request with buses returning to Etching Hill off-peak Monday to Saturday.”
